Photographers and Videographers: Show Us What You've Got!
I love taking photos and videos of our music scene and seeing how great they turn out. I have captured some pretty cool things with my phone’s camera. I can’t imagine what I’d capture with professional equipment!
Nobody can disagree with the statement that Peoria has some amazing talent, and that includes more than just musicians!
When considering how I could include some of this other talent while sticking to highlighting music, I had an idea I’d love to try…
At least monthly, but possibly more often depending on the response, I’d love to feature a local photographer/videographer on our blog.
Here’s how I imagine it working… let’s see what happens!
Photographers:
Choose a Band/Venue/Date
Get permission from the band to take photos/record video for this submission (if needed - not necessary most of the time)
Let me know so I can schedule a post and set a deadline for you
When at the show…
Be professional. You are working as a freelancer here, not as an agent of Peoria Music Live. Everything you do reflects on your business.
Be mindful of those around you. It doesn’t hurt to stand in front of a crowd with your camera in the air snapping photos… for a song or two. If you stand there the entire show, it frustrates the people PML are trying to encourage to come out to more shows!
Showcase the Peoria area. Find something unique to highlight that nobody else has except Peoria. Something about the band, something about the venue, something that reminds people that Peoria is an awesome place to live and they should get out and see more of it.
Afterwards, submit these to me:
Between 5 and 20 images (If you are mainly a videographer, a single video is fine, but we still need a few photos to fill out the post.)
A bio with links to your FB page or website
250-600 words about the band or the show. (Try to make it interesting. Don’t copy and paste their FB bio. If you need help with this, I can give you some direction.)
Participation by bands or photographers is completely voluntary. Some photographers have expressed interest in participating to get their name/brand out to the public. Some want to support a band they love. Some would just love to be a part of what Peoria Music Live is doing and help by providing great content!
While PML is not able to pay for these submissions, we are willing to use submissions where the band paid for the work, as long as all parties are in agreement and payment is discussed up front.
Questions? Feel free to email Kindall@peoriamusiclive.com

I’ll see what I can do to match you up! But, no promises from me.
I just think this would be fun to try.
