I Might Need Help...
I recently posted on the PML Facebook page that Peoria Music Live is still basically a one-woman operation and mentioned the possibility of volunteers and interns in the future.
This weekend, as I edited a backlog of nearly 40 videos (with many more to go) while also collecting photos and videos of 9 more bands, I realized… the future needs to be now.
Honestly, the future needed to be about a year ago, but I am not very good at asking for help or figuring out the best way to go about arranging it.
Peoria Music Live is designed to be consistent and reliable, to promote and cover every genre in the area, at every level. I want to do more than give you event lists and videos.
I am a writer… and want to be able to take the time to write the stories behind the music… but most days I’m so busy trying to keep up with the music, there is no time to write!
So, I’ve created an application for people who would like to volunteer to help Peoria Music Live. This is a general application. People interested in specific areas might be asked for more information.
I can honestly say I have no idea if I will decide to use volunteers or not in the long run, but the idea is worth exploring. The list of things we could possibly use help with on the application may turn out to be things I’m not willing to give up handling myself. I don’t know for sure.
Finding out who might be interested is the first step… and we’ll go from there.
I would love to hire employees, but my attempts at fundraising have not gone well. I’m a writer and creator… an artist… not the type of sales person needed to “close a deal” on a sponsorship. So, if anyone wants to volunteer to help me figure out how to do that… let me know.
Thanks again for all of your support! Check out the video & photos from this weekend below…
(I’ll have more to share soon!)
