Bicycle Day has been celebrated around the country on April 19th since 1985. It commemorates Dr Albert Hofmann’s first LSD trip and “the beginning of the psychedelic era.” Locally, it’s been a good excuse to have a music festival.
Typically this invite-only festival that often includes camping, is organized by Topher Bee and held on a farm in the area. This year’s venue canceled at the last minutes due to an emergancy situation and The 808 Room in East Peoria stepped up.
Roy Ponce, was originally supposed to play solo that night, but he graciously offered to share the stage with a whittled down artist list (they had to fit a full day of music into an evening.) It was a fun night to hang out at The 808 Room, that included a few artists we’ve never seen before (which means you probably haven’t either.)
Check out the photos and videos from our Bicycle Day adventure in this post while you make your live music to-do list for this weekend.
We post these to give people an idea of what to expect when they go out, but know for sure that you need to get out and see them in person.
You can download a video, but you can’t download a live music experience
