Long before I ever met Kenny Peak, I saw a running joke on Facebook about how many bands he played in. One person even posted, “Is it even a real band if Kenny Peak isn’t your drummer?” The most recent list I found included Wolf & Gypsy Band, Fighter Jet Pin-Ups, Sadistic Cowboys, Forced Country, Hush Money, Smashed Infant, and Pandora’s Box!
Most recently I’ve posted video of him playing with Wolf and Gypsy Band. The video on the right is from an event at Peoria Motorcycle Club in August .
When I ran into him there this summer, he mentioned that he had been creating music documentaries featuring working musicians from the Peoria area and posting them online.
He calls the series, “Little Legends” and it is available to watch for free on YouTube!
These videos are full of Peoria area music history, musician’s stories, and, of course, music.
With barely four years of Peoria Area music under my belt, there is still a lot of stuff I don’t know… and I love listening to these people who I enjoy seeing and promoting, sharing so much area knowledge and so many great stories!
Below are just a couple from this season, Brian Carroll of JammSammich, Revel in Red, and many more, as well as Christine Wright, currently from Backstabbin’ Betty and Doghouse Daisy!
Other episodes include Joey Prater, Josh Thompson, Bruce Mosier, Tommy Edwards, and many more!
You can find the rest via video links on the Little Legends Facebook page and also offer your input on who else you’d like to see interviewed! Or you can find these videos and more on the Kenny Peak Official YouTube Channel.
Enjoy!
