I am not a musician, but damn, do I love music!
Working in radio is my dream job, All.Music.All.The.Time. 99.9 WWCT is all about music discovery and all about our community, which made our partnership with Peoria Music Live a no-brainer. Together, we aim to bring you great music you already know you love, AND intro you to music we are sure you will soon love.
Central Illinois is ripe with super talented musicians; great music lives right here.
Recent scientific studies have proven that attending live music shows adds years to your life, and just my opinion, makes your life so much more exciting!!! Peoria and Central Illinois are filled with music venues, from bar stages like the Red Barn & Kenny’s Westside to mid size rooms like the Monarch Music Hall & the Castle Theater to the full size arena at the Peoria Civic Center, we have it ALL!
I challenge you to broaden your music horizons & get out there and explore the music scene; go to a venue you haven’t been to; go take in a band’s show you normally would shy away from. Take it all in and extend your life with live music from your favorite local or nationally touring bands.
Peoria Music Live has taken the guess work out of finding your next local music exploration and 99.9 WWCT is super stoked to be a part of that journey… So, get out there and add years to your life while adding life to your years, with live local music, of course!
And for Pete’s sake…don’t miss the openers!
Thanks for supporting the local music scene and local independent radio… I am not a musician, but I love & support music of all kinds and without my like-minded non-musicians, who would dance and throw horns at shows?
Be KIND out there and see you at the next local show!
Roxy Baker
99.9 WWCT
Roxy Baker was born in Peoria and has never lived more than 45 minutes away. Music and radio have always been important to her. The dream of working in radio was realized a bit later in life, but it was worth the wait. She says co-hosting 99.9 WWCT's Morning Blend forces her to be up at an unearthly hour, but she loves bringing Central Illinois the latest music and helping them kick-start their days! She and her husband, the Haney (who shares her love of all things music), have been married for nearly 7 years and together for 20.
